Doctor
Dr. Mark Russell Graduated from Auburn University School of Veterinary Medicine. Member of AVMA, MCVMA, ALVMA, AAHA. President Elect of ALVMA, head of 100 Year Anniversary Celebration of ALVMA, and receipient of many service awards for contributions to veterinary medicine. Dr. Russell has 1 daughter and 2 sons and wife, Cindy, is Childrens Minister at First Baptist Church.

Aubie- diluted calico that plays with everything and cannot get enough attention
Shorty- long-haired dachshund that never meets a stranger
Poly- black polydactyl kitty that always needs one more rub
Dr. Staci Armstrong Received her Bachelor of Science and Biology Degree from McNeese State University, and later graduated from Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine. Current member of AVMA. Dr. Armstrong and her husband Tracy have 2 sons.

"Alex"andra- beautiful white Maine Coon cat
Dr. Sam Eidt Received his Bachelors Degree from Mississippi State, then later graduated from Auburn University with a DVM. Member of AVMA, MCVMA, and ALVMA, where he also serves on the grievance committee. Dr. Eidt and his wife, Lucia, have 2 sons and 1 granddaughter.

Norman Ackerman , D.V.M.

We lost a dear friend and colleague early 2008, Dr. Norman Ackerman, DVM. A board certified radiology specialist well-known throughout the country, Dr. Ackerman was away at Oregon teaching veterinary students when he passed away from a heart attack.
He is greatly missed in our clinic and the veterinary community.
Graduate of Auburn University's School of Veterinary Medicine; Diplomate, American College of Veterinary Radiology (Board Certified); member of the Radiological Society of North America and AVMA. He published over 100 articles and 5 textbooks.

Currently enrolled in AAHA accredited Cedar Valley College Veterinary Technician certification program Kristen has been with WAH since mid-2003 and has experience in all areas of the hospital. Free time is spent with boyfriend, friends and family, or rockin' on Guitar Hero!

April has been with WAH since early 2003. Free time is spent working with her animals, including team penning with her horse, playing softball, going to hockey & baseball games, Rock Band, and rooting on the Alabama Crimson Tide!

Jennifer Jones , LVT Jennifer joined our staff in early September 2007. She received her AAS and LVT from Snead State Community College in 2001, then did her preceptorship and worked as a LVT in Vestavia for 6 yrs before moving to Huntsville. In her free time she enjoys spending time w/ her new hubby Ben, listening to music, and playing with her pets.
Pets: Chewbacca- golden retriever/chow mix, "the wookie" Squeegee- typical eccentric border collie, "the squeege" "Fraggle" Buttercup - chirping little tabby "Furbert" Guster - mischievous brother to Fraggle
Tara Jones WAH welcomes Tara from the western states. Recently transplanted from Arizona, and native to California, Tara is the latest asset to our team with many years of vet tech experience.
Cinder - Russian blue wanna-be, 'the good son' Embers - flame point kitty, too smart for his own good Budbuds - stray kitty that is a permanent resident!

Deborah Coward-Nichols Deborah came to WAH after many years working nearby at a pet boarding facility. With lots of "doggie care" experience, and previous work in Search and Rescue, Deborah is a great leader and benefit to our hospital.

Adrienne Mousel A graduate of Grissom High School and currently enrolled at UAH, Adrienne has been with WAH for nearly 2 years. Originally from St. Louis, MO, she enjoys photography, reading (especially Harry Potter and Jane Austin), loves music, and ALABAMA football. Future plans are to work with animals and be active in animal rescue- life dream is to visit Steve Irwin's "Australia's Zoo".
